Guardianships
A guardianship is a legal relationship where someone is appointment by the court to make decisions for and act on behalf of a minor or an incapacitated adult concerning personal and financial aspects. The law presumes that all adults have sufficient mental capacity to make their own personal and financial decisions. This presumption is rebutted by competent evidence of mental incapacity at a guardianship hearing with the Clerk of Superior Court.
